SATURDAY DECEMBER 1

Gold Key Play, VIRGINIA +6 Over Penn State   (NCAA, Noon EST)   (Weather)   (WINNER, OUTRIGHT)

Coach Al Groh and the Cavaliers look to end the season on a good note.  So far they are 4-7 Straight Up, and 6-4 Against The Spread.  They played well in their last two events; the Cavs covered the 17 point line to lose by two Touchdowns at Home versus Virginia Tech in their Last, and posted an outright 39-38 win over fourteen point Favorite Georgia Tech previous to that one.  The 2001 version of the Cavaliers just might go out in winning style on Senior Day . . .

The Nittany Lions under long-tenured Coach Joe Paterno have done little wrong lately.  They become Bowl eligible with a SU win here, and have covered their Last six straight, no small feat.  They won't surprise by winning SU here, but the line may be too high for them to cover.  Coach Paterno does not have a good record in his final Road game of the season.

The line overnited at Lions -5.5 and figures to move up.  We'll take those points and the Home Cavaliers here in a Gold Key Play.

Gold Key Play, Tennessee +17.5 Over FLORIDA   (NCAA, 4:30 PM EST)   (Weather)   (WINNER, OUTRIGHT)

What would a Saturday of NCAA Football be for Gold Key Members without Coach Phillip Fulmer?  We've had a great season On/Against the Vols, and our only down point was when Coach Fulmer decided to go for it instead of running out the clock at Notre Dame to cover the spread Against us.  The Volunteers are 9-1 SU this season, and their only SU loss was at Home in a Gold Key Winner to Georgia.  Their Offense has come through every week, and produced 24 points in the two point SU loss to the Bulldogs.  Their Defense becomes the key to this one, they cannot allow the Gators to score at will, and must keep their team in the game.  Coach Fulmer actually does not have a good cover record in this event, but deserves a play ON as Double Digit in-Conference Dog.

The Gators under long-tenured Coach Steve Spurrier look to end the regular season 10-1 SU with a win here today at Home.  They've covered both Home SEC games this season, and crushed Florida State here two weeks ago.  Coach Spurrier has an excellent cover record in this event, but has a poor record in the final regular season game ATS.

The line overnited at Gators -17.5 and figures to move up.  We'll take those points and the Road Volunteers to cover for us here in a Gold Key Play.

Gold Key Play, Colorado +7.5 Over TEXAS   (NCAA, 8 PM EST)   (Weather)   (WINNER, OUTRIGHT)

The Buffaloes came through for Gold Key Members big time in their Last, and look to keep the streak going here today.  They have been gangbusters this season, with their only bad mark the 41-7 loss at Texas five games back.  Since then they won all four games SU; at Oklahoma State, Home versus Missouri, at Iowa State, then their 62-36 shellacking of Nebraska in their Last.  In Coach Gary Barnett's two seasons, the Buffaloes finished up with a cover at Nebraska last year, and six straight cover wins including a Bowl win the previous season.  This one is being played at Irving, TX.

The Longhorns are 10-1 SU, and 6-5 ATS.  Their only SU loss was against Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl, not their Home of Austin.  Their only non-covers in their last six events were last week as two Touchdown winner at Texas A&M, and at Missouri as Double Digit Favorite in a SU win.  Coach Brown does not have a good ATS record in Playoff and Bowl Games.

The line overnited at Longhorns -7.5.  We'll take those points and the hot Buffaloes here in a Gold Key Play.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 24

Gold Key Play, KANSAS STATE -20.5 Over Missouri   (NCAA, Noon EST)   (Weather)   (WINNER)

The Wildcats need a win today for a possible Bowl berth.  Under long-tenured Coach Bill Snyder, they have easily covered all three events this season as prohibitive Home Favorite.  Going 7-3 Against The Spread so far, their only ATS losses were during a tough three game period.  They lost by a point at Oklahoma to cover the four point line, then lost outright at Home to a tough Colorado team, then came right back with a flat performance at upstart Texas Tech.  After that one they lost outright at Home to Texas A&M.  But the Wildcats regrouped and have covered their last four events.  They have covered their last three at Home in this contest versus the Tigers.  The Wildcats should take no prisoners today in this one.

The Tigers under new Coach Gary Pinkel are 4-5 Straight Up, but haven't faired so well versus good teams.  They lost 36-3 at Home versus Nebraska early, lost 35-16 at Home to Texas, and lost at Colorado 38-24.  Add to that some suspensions for this one:  they lose a Defensive End, and their Senior and Freshman punters today.  The Tigers finish the season in the make up of the postponed game at Michigan State next week.

The line overnited at Wildcats -19.5 and has moved up.  We'll lay the Home wood here with the Wildcats in a Gold Key Play.

Gold Key Play, MICHIGAN -8 Over Ohio State   (NCAA, 1 PM EST)   (Weather)   (Loser)

We've made some money going against Michigan this season, but now is the time to go with them.  The Wolverines started the season with a non-cover SU win at Home versus Miami-Ohio, then won and covered at Home versus Conference rivals Illinois, Purdue, and Minnesota.  They also covered at Home versus Western Michigan.  One of the reasons long-tenured Coach John Cooper was fired last year at Ohio State was his inability to defeat the Wolverines over the years.  This is an important game for the Wolverines;  seventh year Coach Lloyd Carr will capture his fourth Big Ten title with a win here, and the Wolverines will get an automatic berth in the BCS Series with the win.

The Buckeyes have fallen on hard times since losing Quarterback Steve Bellisari to suspension on DUI charges.  Craig Krenzel will be the Buckeyes starting Quarterback today. Scott McMullen will be his backup, and Rick McFadden will be third on the depth chart.  Bellisari is listed as fourth in the pecking order now.  The Buckeyes are 1-4 ATS their Last five at Michigan in this series.

The line overnited at Wolverines -8.5 and has dropped the hook.  We'll lay the Home wood here and go with the Wolverines to cover in a Gold Key Play.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 23

Gold Key Play, COLORADO +9 Over Nebraska   (NCAA, 3:30 PM EST)   (Weather)   (WINNER, OUTRIGHT)

The Buffaloes had an easy schedule out of the Big Twelve Conference, and they should be well prepared for this one today.  They are always tough at Home, especially as Dog.  The Buffaloes are 8-2 Straight Up.  Their only losses were at Home to a tough Fresno State team to start the season, 24-22, and at Texas 41-7 after two tough back to back games.  They are also 5-0 Against The Spread in this event over the past five seasons.

The Cornhuskers (11-0 SU, 7-0  SU Big Twelve North) have won nine games Straight Up in this series, but the last five games have been decided by a combined 15 points.  They've taken no prisoners as Road Favorite versus bad teams, going 3-0 ATS this season.  The Cornhuskers also had an easy schedule, but won and covered over Oklahoma in a Gold Key Winner.  In their Last game they won but lost the cover at Home versus Kansas State.  Coach Frank Solich does not have a good cover record when his team has rest before a Road game.

The line overnited at Cornhuskers -10.5 and is dropping.  We'll take those points and the Home Buffaloes here in a Gold Key Play.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 17

Gold Key Play, BOISE STATE -18 Over San Jose State   (NCAA, 3:05 PM EST)   (Weather)   (WINNER)

The Broncos under Coach Dan Hawkins have gone 7-2 Against The Spread this season, and both ATS losses were Straight Up losses.  They have taken no prisoners, and shouldn't today either.  The Broncos finish out the season next week at Home versus Central Michigan.

The Aztecs under Coach Ted Tollner were lucky to face both Tulsa and Utep this season, and they covered versus both of them.  They also surprised Nevada last week at Home in a high scoring game.  Now they must pay the piper to finish out the season at the Broncos, at Fresno State, and Home versus Stanford.

The line overnited at Broncos -14 and has moved up.  We'll lay the Home wood here and go with the Broncos to cover for us in a Gold Key Play.

Gold Key Play, USC +3.5 Over Ucla   (NCAA, 6:30 PM EST)   (Weather)   (WINNER, OUTRIGHT)

The Trojans under new Coach Pete Carroll have turned it around, and have won four out of the last five Straight Up.  Their only poor effort this season was at Notre Dame which was an out of Conference sandwich game.  The Trojans have nothing to lose and everything to gain as Home Dog in this Pacific Ten rivalry today.

The Bruins under Coach Bob Toledo have played three tough games in a row, now they must travel to USC.  Coach Toledo has a poor Road Favorite cover record, and has not covered the last Road game in his five year tenure so far.  The Bruins are 1-3 ATS their last four in this match up.

The line overnited at Bruins -4 and has dropped the hook after injury notifications.  We'll take those points and the Home Trojans to cover here in a Gold Key Play.

Gold Key Play, Uab -15.5 Over HOUSTON   (NCAA, 8:05 PM EST)   (Weather)   (WINNER)

The Blazers of the Conference USA under Coach Watson Brown can guarantee a Straight Up winning season tonight at Houston.  They play at Pittsburgh next week in a game that was postponed earlier.  Coach Brown is 3-1 ATS as Road Favorite in his career; 8-2 ATS after scoring 14 or more points in his last game; 5-1 ATS in the first of back to back away games.  The Blazers have won three in a row SU, and figure to take no prisoners at Conference rival Houston tonight.

The Cougars are looking for their first SU win in ten attempts tonight, and if that fails they must do it at Georgia next week.  Coach Dana Dimel is now 5-15 ATS lifetime at Houston, 3-9 ATS as Double Digit Dog.

The line overnited at Blazers -16 and dropped the hook early.  We'll lay the Road wood here with the Blazers in a Gold Key Play.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 10

Gold Key Play, VANDERBILT -1 Over Kentucky   (NCAA, 2PM EST)   (Weather)   (Loser)

The Commodores have lost Coach Woody Widenhofer, his resignation takes effect after the season.  This after a blow out loss at Florida last week, the third of three Road games.  Today they face the Wildcats in their final Home game, and they just might respond well.  This team has had quite the tough SEC schedule, and only needs to win Straight Up here for us.

The Wildcats have covered three straight, and this is also their third straight Road game.  They don't have a good cover record in this event, and they just might bounce here in a close lined game.  In his first season, Coach Guy Morris lost the cover on the first five games before covering the last three.

The line overnited at a Pick and has moved to Commodores -1.  We'll go with the Commodores here to win this one in a Gold Key Play.

Gold Key Play, RICE-18 Over Tulsa   (NCAA, 3 PM EST)   (Weather)   (WINNER)

The Owls have played well Straight Up and Against The Spread for long-tenured Coach Ken Hatfield this season.  Their blow out loss at Fresno State last week was to be expected, they had played two tough OT games in a row before, plus it was their third Road game out of four.  This is a game they lost outright last season, but almost always win and cover.

The Golden Hurricanes haven't lived up to their team name, and have been more like a fart in the wind this season.  They started out like gangbusters at Home versus Indiana State in an unlined 51-0 win, then have lost seven SU and ATS!  They actually lost at UTEP 26-10, no small feat for dubious honors.  This is a game they traditionally don't cover, but who knows when they will jump up and cover.

The line overnited at Rice -17.5 and has moved up.  We'll lay the Home wood here and go with the Owls in a Gold Key Play.

Gold Key Play, Auburn +7.5 Over GEORGIA   (NCAA, 3:30 PM EST)   (Weather)   (WINNER, OUTRIGHT)

We've done well with the SEC this season, and here's a good one here.  The Tigers have gone 1-5 their Last six ATS, but with excuses.  Three back they defeated Florida at Home outright, then were all out to win SU over Louisiana Tech.  Then in a Gold Key Winner, they were crushed at Arkansas.  The Tigers had a week off to prepare for this one, and have a great cover record in this event.

The Bulldogs have covered four out of their Last five.  At Home in Conference they are 1-2 ATS however, just covering the 10 point line against Arkansas while winning by 11.  They do have SU wins under their belt at Tennessee no less, and the aforementioned Arkansas game.  Their history shows problems covering this event.

The line overnited at Bulldogs -9 and is dropping.  We'll take the points and the Road Tigers here in a Gold Key Play.
